The easiest way to get more fans on Facebook is to be known outside of Facebook itself. The people with the largest number of fans typically are prominent world figures/celebrities.People such as Barack Obama , MC Hammer , Eminem, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears , Justin Bieber. For the rest of the World though we can still have large numbers of fans on Facebook if that is what we really want. The first step along the Facebook fans journey is to create your Facebook Account, Group and Fan Page.

Step 1:Sign up for Facebook, Create a Facebook Page, Create a Facebook Special Interest Group

The process to sign-up for Facebook is thankfully smoothly, straightforward and secure. Before you can get more followers you will need to: 1. Create a Facebook Account 2. Create a Facebook Page 3. Create a Facebook Special Interest Group
If you need help with any of the above, please visit the related pages section where specific links are provided to pages which will help you with the above topics.
Step 2: Make it easy for people to follow.

Put the Facebook “Become A Fan” box in a convenient location on your external website or blog. Advertise your Facebook URL in as many places as possible to encourage people to follow you.
Step 3: Find people with similar interests to you and your Facebook group(s)

Finding people with similar interests and following them will in a lot of cases lead to them reciprocating and following you. This isn’t SPAM following because in the medium/long term these contacts may well prove very useful to you.
Step 4: Produce quality content

Give people a reason to follow and be a fan. Ask yourself first whether you are interested. If people are interested in what you’re doing, they want to be updated. Above all else, update your content frequently.
Step 5: Integrate with email campaigns

Facebook allows you to send group invitations to all of the contacts in your Outlook, Hotmail, Gmail, and Yahoo accounts, so don’t forget to invite everyone who’s not already a Facebook friend.
Step 6: Grow your fans every day, never give up

Sometimes you will need to follow first and become a fan. Ask your friends and co-workers to do the same. Ask your friends and co-workers to promote your Facebook fan page as a favor. Don’t give up if the going gets tough.
Step 7: Create a short URL and promote it on Twitter

This is ideal for Twitter’s 140 character restriction. Create a short URL to create a “301” server side redirection to your Facebook fan page. When communicating, share the URL (with a compelling message) wherever possible.
Step 8: Give incentives

Give away free information, samples and goodies to reward your loyal Facebook fans.
Step 9: Utilize the power of MLM

Ask people to ask their friends to become a fan. Introduce some sort of reward arrange to honor those who bring the most followers. Ensure you have a mechanism to monitor who brings each new follower to you.
Step 10: Build a special channel on Facebook Fan page

Provide exclusive content within the Fan Page and make people have to join to get access to this content.
Step 11: Promote the page with a Facebook Ad

This might cost more than you think. Before you do this make sure you are specific about your objectives.

Facebook is really one of the best social networking site today in the net. I'm not sure but I know that it is the 2nd or the 3rd site that is most visited by internet users. So it is not a surprise that Facebook is very useful in marketing.
